Over the past two years Edge Lighting have been involved in the re-lighting of many Budgens stores throughout the South – East, most notably the Wendover and Belsize Park branches. These stores were lit using a mixture of high efficiency LED modules and downlighters creating a pleasant, bright shopping atmosphere.
The finished result has dramatically improved the appearance of the stores, and has also shown a 60% energy reduction for the client. Whilst many food retailers are going over to Cool White lighting, Budgens wanted to keep a warm friendly feel, so they opted for Warm White, but with the improved output and light distribution of the LED lighting the shop achieves a perfect balance of being bright and active, yet still warm and inviting.
With Edge’s luminaires installed it is calculated the scheme will pay for itself within the first year, and achieve savings in excess of £4,000 per annum thereafter, along with 16 tonnes of CO2.
