Not exactly one from the catalogue, Waitrose at Harrow Weald features a concealed grid plaster ceiling with varying ceiling heights.
EDGE Lighting were required to find a retrofit solution to allow the existing ceiling to be retained, involving site surveys, innovative engineering and a lighting design to suit.
To allow the store to operate as normal all fit outs were completed overnight by HVAC Electrical Services, who worked well with us for delivering in phases to ensure minimal disruption to Waitrose.
The new linear system now boasts the latest LED technology to ensure maximum energy efficiency; a key concern for Waitrose, which allows both cost savings of lighting maintenance and power, as well as in keeping with Waitrose on their green credentials.
Our Ledteq, Gimteq and Cirteq ranges all were modified with oversized bezels to cover larger, existing cut-outs from previous luminaires, and we were able to increase luminaire outputs over areas with a higher ceiling to maintain desired light levels.
The end result for Waitrose is a cost effective modernisation of their existing lighting, minimising disruption to the store, and limiting resources required to a component level where possible.
This marks just one of many successful LED retrofits that EDGE Lighting has undertaken to provide cost effective lighting upgrades.
