E.ON SOLIHULL

Rhino Interiors’ redevelopment of E.ON’s Solihull workplace included a considered reworking of the main reception. The redesigned entrance introduces a clearer sense of arrival, with a warmer palette of natural materials, a planted feature wall and a more open, extended ceiling height area. As part of this transformation, Edge Lighting was appointed to provide a suspended lighting feature that would sit comfortably within the space and support the overall design intent.

Early discussions with Rhino Interiors outlined the need for a sculptural, visually quiet element that could sit confidently within the extended ceiling-height area above the reception desk. The feature needed to feel integrated with the surrounding finishes rather than compete with the strong material palette already in place.

LIGHTING APPROACH

The fitting had to integrate with the surrounding materials, complementing the timber finishes and planted wall rather than competing with them.
Linflex 360 provided the right balance of flexibility and scale, allowing a continuous 9000mm loop to be formed as a clean, simple feature above the desk.
Its 360-degree opal diffuser delivers a soft, neutral glow that suits the reception’s natural palette.
The loop was installed with a minimal suspension detail so it sits lightly in the space and feels part of the overall architecture.
Close coordination with Rhino Interiors ensured the feature aligned neatly with the desk and ceiling structure, maintaining a clear and balanced appearance from all key viewpoints.

RESULTS

The completed feature adds gentle definition to the arrival space and improves the reception’s overall character without distraction.
The Linflex 360 loop supports Rhino Interiors’ design language, contributing a contemporary focal point that feels consistent with the wider workplace refurbishment.
Delivered within the required programme, the installation achieves the intended balance of simplicity, scale and presence.
